Job, family, health, grief, anxiety, fear. All kinds of things can put pressure on people. So many people are struggling to “get on top” and their lives seem more pressured and stressful because of that. In reality the opposite is often the case. There is this assumption that people who are “on top” will have a comfortable safe easy life. One day Simba was unhappy and grouchy and depressed. Simba the young lion born to be the Lion King and his friends Pumba the Warthog and Timon the Meercat. One of my favourite jokes of all time comes Disney’s Musical, “The Lion King.” It stars Upside-Down Kingdom – the Beatitudes (9).Pastoral Letters to Timothy and Titus (10).This requires faith, we believe with our mind and we trust with our heart that God will give what He promises. Those who are dedicated and committed to God and who trust in Him, these will experience this wonderful promise. Those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You. If we will do our part, then God will surely do His part. God gives us a guarantee that if we will walk in His statutes and keep His commandments, He will keep our hearts in perfect peace.

And again as we look up Leviticus 26:3-6 we see a very important word “if”. Psalm 119:165 tells us that “great peace have those who love your law (commandments), and nothing can make them stumble. The Lord Jesus Christ procured peace for us upon the cross of Calvary, and that peace is conveyed to our hearts and minds by the Holy Spirit as stated in Galatians 5:22: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness”. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:4-7Īs we look at these words and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus, we realize how blessed we are as Christians, because this peace belongs to those who rest on the finished work of Christ for salvation. The Lord is near, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. Just like Paul wrote to the Philippians: “ Rejoice in the Lord always. It is none other than trusting in our Lord. The peace which God offers is very practical and which by His grace we can experience. Peace is a condition of freedom from disturbance within our soul it is perfect harmony reigning within us. Many people are surrounded by much gloominess and depression and when we are constantly threatened with the three great enemies of doubt, fear and worry, we need to keep our minds fixed on the Lord and realize how precious and comforting these words become to us. With all that is going on in the world today, this verse should prove to be of special help to us today. When we focus our minds on the Lord, then along with that focus comes trust in Him and in His power.Īs we look at Isaiah, we see that t his wonderful promise was given in the darkest period of Israel’s history. In order for us to have peace, all we need to do is to focus our minds on God it is as simple as that. “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You” – Isaiah 26:3
